Man Who Died in a Hotel is a Chief, Girlfriend Still at Large

The man reported on Monday 21st January to have died in a hotel room is said to be the Kontihene of Akim Chia near Ofoase in the Eastern Region.

70-year-old Eric Osei Ansere died in a hotel room with regalia but his title wasn’t readily known until his wife and sons of visited the police.

They were taken to the St Joseph’s Hospital morgue to identify the deceased. His second son confirmed that the body was that of his late father. The family who is not happy about the scandalous nature of their chief’s death are making all efforts to have his body released to them. Investigations into the cause of his death are still ongoing.

The late Kontihene per report, lodged into a guest house with a young lady believed to be in her mid 20s. When the receptionist wanted to clean the allocated to them the following day, her knocks were ignored. It was after she opened the door that she saw deceased alone in the room.

Upon receipt of the information, police proceeded to the scene and on inspection, several medicines, including viagra for men container with one capsule, deep heat spray, unirob polar ice, bendroflumethiazide tablets, and several other used tablets were seen in a bag within the guest room.

Also, a red bag containing the personal clothes of the deceased including some regalia and a black handbag containing cash the sum of GH¢2000 were also found.

External inspection of the body was conducted but no marks of violence were seen except foaming on his mouth.
