DEAR AUNTIE ABENA,
I will need the advice of you and your fans to get through this one. I have been married to my husband for 3 years, a very loving husband he is. Auntie Abena, I was unemployed when I married my husband.
During our honeymoon, an issue occurred at hoops place of work and some people were laid off including him. He lost his job and things became hard. How were we going to survive as two unemployed people? We set out on a job hunt and luckily I was called for an interview a few weeks later to a company we both applied to.
After a series of interviews I was to meet the CEO for a final interview which ward to determine whether II’ll get the job or not. Surprisingly the CEO said he didn’t know how I went through the panel because I didn’t meet the required experience they were looking for. Knowing that my husband had that experience and even better qualifications than myself, I pleaded with him to at least allow my husband to take my place.
He agreed on the condition that I sleep with him. After that, my husband wouldn’t even have to go through the recruitment process. I thought about the whole thing and I couldn’t just come to terms with it. Not married for long and I already had to defile my home? The job came with a lucrative salary too so I gave in.
I met my husband at home and he looked elated at the sight of me with high hopes. “Babe, the CEO says the only position left is for a male with your kind of experience,” I said without telling him what I did. I continue, “in short he wants to meet you so kindly go with your CV tomorrow.”
Fast forward he got the job and we moved into a much bigger apartment later. It’s been 3 years down the line and I must say he has been there for us through thick and thin. More supportive than I ever asked for. Auntie Abena I love this man so dearly.
My problem now is, I don’t know who advised him but we have two boys. He secretly took a paternity test and the result of the first boy turned out not to be his. He wants an explanation to that and I have been crying since. I don’t know what to say. What I did 3 years ago got him the job and now has come to haunt me. I’m ashamed and don’t know what to do. He has given me an ultimatum and wants to divorce me. Please advise me.
